  • A Ray of Hope: The Inspiring Journey of Miss Pham Thi Ha Giang

In the quiet town of Bao Loc, Lam Dong, a young girl named Pham Thi Ha Giang has been navigating life's challenges with resilience and determination. Born in 2006, she was the eldest of three sisters in a family facing difficult circumstances. Tragedy struck when her father passed away early, and her mother struggled with an unstable job. Unable to afford school, Giang found herself working as a waitress at a tea shop to support her family. Heartbreaking Turn of Events: On November 9, 2023, the trajectory of Giang's life took an unexpected and tragic turn. A devastating traffic accident on her way home from work left this young dreamer with severe injuries—a painful intracranial hemorrhage, a broken cheekbone, a crushed chin, a fractured orbital bone, a bruised lung, and fractures in both legs and one arm. The toll on her body was unimaginable. Hospital Journey: Giang was swiftly taken to Cho Ray hospital, where she began the arduous journey of recovery. After two weeks of intensive treatment, there has been a glimmer of hope as her brain condition shows signs of improvement. However, the casts on her limbs are a stark reminder of the challenges that lie ahead. Recently, she has been moved to the Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital for specialized treatment of her facial injuries. A Community's Call to Action: In the face of such adversity, Glenda Studio has stepped forward to seek assistance from benefactors, rallying support for Giang's medical expenses and rehabilitation. This call to action extends beyond financial aid; it is a plea for collective empathy and community support. The Long Road to Recovery: As she embarks on the long road to recovery, it's evident that her spirit remains unbroken. The strength she exhibited in her daily life is now being channeled into her fight for healing. The casts on her limbs may limit her physical movement, but the indomitable spirit within her continues to soar. Hope for Tomorrow: This blog is more than a narrative of tragedy; it is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Giang's journey is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, a ray of hope can emerge. As a community, we have the power to come together and be that beacon of hope for Giang and her family.

  • Helping in the Community

Meet Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, born in 1980, residing in a modest home nestled within a quiet alley in District 12 of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Thuy is the devoted mother of two children: a son in the 8th grade and a daughter in the 3rd grade. Thuy's life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). As her condition progressively worsened, her children took on the roles of caregivers, tending to household chores, cooking, and most importantly, caring for their mother. They assist her with feeding, guiding her to the restroom, and helping with her baths, as Thuy's ability to move has become severely limited. Sadly, the disease has taken its toll on Thuy, causing her limbs to atrophy and her body to weaken, rendering her unable to control her normal movements. In the past two months, ALS has further advanced, affecting her throat muscles to the point where she has lost her ability to speak. While there is no known cure for ALS, Thuy has tried muscle relaxants and traditional medicine, seeking treatments far and wide, yet she has not witnessed significant improvement. Adding to the family's challenges, Thuy's husband left her and their children alone upon learning of her diagnosis, leaving them without a sou rce of income. This has placed additional pressure on her children, who not only must cope with their mother's illness but also bear the financial responsibilities of the household. Upon hearing of Thuy's plight, a group of caring individuals from Glenda Studio, including friends and acquaintances, gathered to extend their support. Together, they raised 10 million VND (equivalent to around $500) in one day and provided essential food supplies to alleviate some of the family's immediate burdens. During their visit, Thuy's emotions overflowed, and she continuously shed tears. While she struggled to communicate verbally due to her condition, her attempts to speak were met with understanding and compassion, facilitated through her children and a thoughtful neighbor who acted as intermediaries. If you are interested in joining our efforts to help Thuy or other local individuals facing similar hardships in Vietnam, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your kindness and willingness to make a difference can bring much-needed hope and relief to those in need.

  • It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Vietnam , the management and staff got into the holiday spirit by preparing the studio for Christmas. That involved throwing away the old worn out tree and ornaments , shopping at the Christmas shop district, decorating the tree, hanging the ornaments and wrapping boxes. It was fun watching the staff pick names out of the hat for the Secret Santa Gift. Hopefully everyone doesn't get bored with the holiday music playing around the clock!! Or with the IT Dept singing along with the carols at full blast!

Hopefully next year someone will tell us about the after parties!!! We stayed near the fun and vibrate Haji Lane in the Arabian Quarter, ate some delicious dishes from Mexico, Turkey and India and visited the Historic Sultan Mosque. Our whirlwind visit ended up with a quick tour of the Marina Bay Sands complex and the lovely Gardens On The Bay. Our trip finally ended with sore feet and a juicy burger and shake at Shake Shack in the incredible Jewel at Changi Airport. Singapore... we already miss you and our new friends! See you next year...
